Brazing involves a filler metal which is melted above 450°C / 842°F
Soldering involves a filler metal which is melted below 427°C / 800°F

Caution:
Solder is melted at 800F or less. Melting solder above 800f will vaporize flux in the solder and leave a carbon / burnt on residue on the tip, known as "black tip". "black tip" is not covered by warranty.
