Batteries used for seasonal use (not year round) : Due to the self-discharge characteristics of this type of battery, it is imperative that charging should be done within 6 months of storage, otherwise permanent loss of capacity might occur as a result of sulfation. Deep cycle batteries are strongly recommended for seasonal use applications : battery operated lawn mower, golf cart, golf caddy ,etc Deep cycle version: see PDC12200

Permanent loss of capacity (Due to sulfation) : A battery might only be able to be charged to a reduced full capacity at 75% or less of its original capacity rating. Example : a 21 ahr battery becomes a 15ahr battery (or less) due to sulfation (chemical reaction inside battery).
